University of Portsmouth
Our project is based at the School of Creative Arts, Film and Media (SCAFM) within the Centre for Cultural and Creative Research (CCCR) at the University of Portsmouth.
Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)
Established in April 2005 (and evolving from the Arts and Humanities Research Board, which was founded in 1998), the AHRC is a non-departmental public body, promoting and supporting the production of world-class research in the arts and humanities. The AHRC is funding our four-year project.
British Universities Film and Video Council
The British Universities Film & Video Council (BUFVC) is a representative body which promotes the production, study and use of moving image, sound and related media in higher education and research. Our team is working closely with the BUFVC, who are playing a key role within the project through their creation of a database of Channel 4’s weekly Press Information Packs (1982 – 2004) under an agreement with Channel 4. This database will prove to be a useful digital resource both for the project and for future media researchers in general.
Film 4 Productions
Film 4 Productions is the feature film commissioning department of Channel 4.
BBC Films
BBC Films is the feature film-making arm of the BBC.
BFI National Library
The BFI (British Film Institute) promotes understanding and appreciation of film and television heritage and culture. Its library is an unparalleled resource on the moving image in Britain from pre-cinema to the present, including books, periodicals, audio tapes, press cuttings, festival materials, special collections of unpublished materials, and much more.
UK Film Council
The UK Film Council is the Government backed lead agency for film in the UK.
